Randall Part II

Welcome to Randall’s Kitchen! You may know Randall from the extremely excellent Happy for this Moment blog – definitely head over and check out this blog!

In Part II of the series we look at everything coffee in Randall’s kitchen!

1) I adore the French Press, how did you decide to go with a French Press?

Oh goodness, it was my husband.  He was armed with the scanner at Crate and Barrel and said, “okay, now this… this I need.” You know what was the very first gift we received? That darn French Press he registered for! The man doesn’t even drink coffee. Good thing I really do love it.

2) The “coffee mug” is so cute, where did you find it? Do you have other mugs with sayings?

I do love coffee so I have a few funny ones I’ve been given or found over the years. These I loved because they were so big and so “Friends.” They actually were purchased together as a gift with the French Press and came together from the woman that introduced us!

3) How is your coffee machine? Would you recommend it?

It is great. Cuisinart is such a solid, well made brand so I’ve loved it so far.

Do you love coffee? What kinds of coffee gear do you have in your kitchen?

In the next part we will look at dishes, glasses and knives!

Real Kitchen – Randall Part I

Welcome to Randall’s Kitchen! You may know Randall from the extremely excellent Happy for this Moment blog – definitely head over and check out this blog!

In Part I we look at where Randall decided to register and her experience with registry.

1) Where did you decided to register and why?

We registered at Crate and Barrel and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Both had products in a style we liked, offered simple registry set up and easy purchasing/shipping options for our guests.

2) Any compliments or complaints about the places you registered?

Neither, which I see as a good thing. I would hope that indicates an effortless process for guests that chose to purchase off of our registries.

3) If you could do it all over, what would you change?

Nothing! It was fun to register, receive and use the gifts that we wanted.  If anything, I suppose, I would have just thought about it less. Everything is exchangeable or returnable. So if you register for something and receive it you can always change your mind and get something else. There is no registry fairy that makes you keep everything you receive.

In the next part of this series we look at everything coffee!

Bohnanza and Lost Cities

Thank you Jennifer from ShinyOrb and Jennifer from Earthly Affair for reminding me of two other awesome games / gifts!

Bohnanza is easy to learn – we played this our whole honeymoon because it is simply so much fun. It involves harvesting beans, so you will easily slip into calling in “Beans” instead of “Bohnanza”.

Lost Cities is a really great two player game – it can be as long or short as you want depending on how many “adventures” you go on. We play this one all the time if we have a few minutes before dinner, or while hanging out at coffee shops.

These games make such great wedding gifts from Amazon – any other great game recs?

Settlers of Catan & Dominion

Here are a few great games I would recommend to add to your registry – great gifts that will last a lifetime!

Have you ever played Settler’s of Catan? It is a great one for when you have another couple over.

Dominion is a great game for 2, 3 or 4 players. It is really easy to learn, but provides a lot of variations each time you play the game so you will never get board.

Let me know if you have any other favorite games that you would recommend registering for!

Le Creuset Stoneware Wok Serving piece in Caribbean Blue

Just found this piece and love – a Le Creuset Stoneware Wok serving piece.

We use our wok all the time, but always have to transfer to a mixing bowl, or other bowl to serve since the wok is too hot to move to the table.

The Stoneware wok serving dish looks like a wok – to completely accent the dish you have just made, brighten your table and not cause table damage! It comes in a variety of colors.

Do you have a favorite wok recipe? How would it look in this piece?

Here is a fun set to register for:

I found this set on Amazon – it includes 7 spatula pieces as well as the crock holder. The one pictured is in blue (clearly!) but it is also available in red and yellow.

This is a great set to register for since it includes a full spatula set, it matches, plus you save a bit by buying all together.

What do you think of this Le Creuset set? What kind of spatulas do you use?
